The Pender Harbour Show and Shine is an annual event held in Garden Bay, next to the Garden Bay Pub on a private estate. Admission is free and all proceeds of the Pender Harbour Show & Shine go to the Egmont Volunteer Fire Department. Organizers extend a special thanks to Coasters Car Club, Pender Harbour Rotary Club, Garden Bay Pub and Pender Harbour Paper Mill.

Beautiful classic cars, polished and buffed to competition perfection, parked on an estate lawn in the heart of Garden Bay for the 6th annual Pender Harbour Show and Shine 2009. This event caps off the Annual Sunshine Coast Festival of the Rolling Arts and is a must see for car aficionados. Sixty registered entries vied for the coveted trophies, from as far away as Cochran, Alberta and Prince George, BC. And although it threatened rain in the morning, by noon the clouds drifted eastward and over 400 folks came to vote on their favorite cars, chrome gleaming in the afternoon sunshine.
Trophy sponsors, the Coasters Car Club, arts and crafts vendors, volunteers and participants made this year’s show another great success with proceeds going to the Egmont and District Volunteer fire department. Ron Johnston of the Garden Bay Pub has hosted this event since it began, and along with many other sponsors, has helped raise thousands for the new fire hall, which officially opened on June 20th 2009.
For the little ones attending, the ever-popular Texada Hillbuggy rides were provided by Skinny Jimmy Dougan, and the Pub had live entertainment all afternoon with Joe Stanton and Tim Hearsey. Souvenir T-shirts, Rotary Club smokies, and registration fees all helped add to the fundraising event.
Winners at the Pender Harbour Show & Shine are decided entirely by people’s choice voting, rather than the usual, formal panel of professional judges. Trophies and prizes are awarded in six entry classes, according to the age of the vehicle, as well as a Best of Show trophy.
Trophies were awarded as follows - 1980 and newer - 1st Allan Whitten - 2010 Mustang, 2nd John and Diane Gwynne –
